One-Time Per Capita Payment Information

The Lac Seul First Nation Chief and Council met on December 19th 2018 and have decided to disburse approximately $4,275,000.00 from the funds awarded to the First Nation for damages resulting from the Southwind v. Canada judgement on October 12, 2017.

The Council of the First Nation wishes to make a one-time per capita payment in the amount of $1250.00 to eligible members. Eligible members who are 18 years of age and older will be able to receive payment in the form of a cheque or direct deposit. Eligible members under the age of 18 will have their funds placed in trust until the individual turns 18 years of age.
Applications will be available for distribution on January 28th 2019 and can be found:

Applications will be accepted from January 28th 2019 to January 31st 2020. Payments will begin April 1st 2019.

Please note that application reviews and payments will be administered offsite, no same day applications will be accepted.
All cheques will mailed and will not be available for pick up at any Lac Seul First Nation office.
